Well, Now that is done, lets proceed...
I am living in The Queen of the Arabian Sea [The place I am talking about is Kochi or Cochin or Ernakulam...u morons :P ] for the last 3+ years... And since I have been staying in a hostel, I have had the chance to visit almost every restaurant in the city :P Yeah, thanks to the fugly, barely edible, tasteless food my hostel mess provides. No, I am not gonna reveal which hostel I reside in :P
Let me start off with the basic category with this blogpost.
My most favorite category. Yes, you should have expected such a post from me looong back, knowing my craze for coffee. But, better late, than never! Someone said it right "There's WAY too much blood in my caffeine system!!!" :)
The Top 5 Cafes in the city !
1. BARISTA - Located at Marine Drive, You get one of the best coffees in the city here. Rates are pretty okay, but for around 250-300, you get 2 grande mugs and one awesome chocolate cake (slice i.e) seriously... one must have the chocolate delicacies of Barista! Its heaven!!! :D They also have a guitar, which you can play. This place has a great ambience. You can sip the coffee facing the sea. I was a regular customer of Barista.. used to visit once/twice in every 2 weekends. Sad, its closed now. :( Its taken over by some stupid other coffee shop, which has everything EXCEPT coffee :-/ Rating : 5/5
2. Lokah Cafe - A new joint. Awesome place. Yes, a place turns awesome automatically, when it has free Wi-Fi ;) :D The ambience is simply outta the world. Perfect for diehard romantics. You get the feeling, you have been transported to a new world. Pricing is also pretty okay. Rating : 4.5/5
3. Cocoa Tree - This place has the best sundaes. Chocolate Avalanche is a must have!!! They also have a wide variety of awesome sandwiches. The coffee is good, and so is the ambience. Great place to hang out with a group of friends. They have 2 branches, one in Avenue Regent and one in Leela Infopark (luckily!!!) :) Rating : 4.5/5
4. Kashi Art cafe - Beats all of the cafes, with its mindblowing serene ambience. Located in Fort Kochi, brings in the old feeling, with their simple chairs and tables. The places displays arts and is perfect for an art lover. Everything is modest here, be it the coffee or the tea cakes. You can see people from various countries out here. Perfect for a calm quiet weekend. Rating : 4/5
5. CCD [Cafe Coffee Day] - Well, as their tag line suggests, "a lot can happen over a coffee" and yes its true! Go to the CCD in Ravipuram, and u can see lots of things happening over a coffee... dont start imagining... its more of "OMG! wt the hell!! *Throws up!*" than *wink wink* :P Coffees are good here, not that great of Barista. But the cold coffees here are great. Reasnable on the pocket too. They have branches in Fort Kochi, Timeout/Oberon Mall and Opp. Lil Shenoys. Rating : 3.5/5
These are the top 5 as per my rating :)
There are other cafe's too, such as The Bubble cafe at Taj Lands end, Qwikys, Canopy, Coffee Beanz etc.
Thats all for now! Till I think of something to write upon, ... B.R.B!!! :)
