Well, Now that is done, lets proceed...

I am living in The Queen of the Arabian Sea [The place I am talking about is Kochi or Cochin or Ernakulam...u morons :P ] for the last 3+ years... And since I have been staying in a hostel, I have had the chance to visit almost every restaurant in the city :P Yeah, thanks to the fugly, barely edible, tasteless food my hostel mess provides. No, I am not gonna reveal which hostel I reside in :P

Let me start off with the basic category with this blogpost.

My most favorite category. Yes, you should have expected such a post from me looong back, knowing my craze for coffee. But, better late, than never! Someone said it right "There's WAY too much blood in my caffeine system!!!" :)

The Top 5 Cafes in the city !

1. BARISTA - Located at Marine Drive, You get one of the best coffees in the city here. Rates are pretty okay, but for around 250-300, you get 2 grande mugs and one awesome chocolate cake (slice i.e) seriously... one must have the chocolate delicacies of Barista! Its heaven!!! :D They also have a guitar, which you can play. This place has a great ambience. You can sip the coffee facing the sea. I was a regular customer of Barista.. used to visit once/twice in every 2 weekends. Sad, its closed now. :( Its taken over by some stupid other coffee shop, which has everything EXCEPT coffee :-/ Rating : 5/5

2.
Lokah Cafe - A new joint. Awesome place. Yes, a place turns awesome automatically, when it has free Wi-Fi ;) :D The ambience is simply outta the world. Perfect for diehard romantics. You get the feeling, you have been transported to a new world. Pricing is also pretty okay. Rating : 4.5/5

3. Cocoa Tree - This place has the best sundaes. Chocolate Avalanche is a must have!!! They also have a wide variety of awesome sandwiches. The coffee is good, and so is the ambience. Great place to hang out with a group of friends. They have 2 branches, one in Avenue Regent and one in Leela Infopark (luckily!!!) :) Rating : 4.5/5

4. Kashi Art cafe - Beats all of the cafes, with its mindblowing serene ambience. Located in Fort Kochi, brings in the old feeling, with their simple chairs and tables. The places displays arts and is perfect for an art lover. Everything is modest here, be it the coffee or the tea cakes. You can see people from various countries out here. Perfect for a calm quiet weekend. Rating : 4/5

5.
CCD [Cafe Coffee Day] - Well, as their tag line suggests, "a lot can happen over a coffee" and yes its true! Go to the CCD in Ravipuram, and u can see lots of things happening over a coffee... dont start imagining... its more of "OMG! wt the hell!! *Throws up!*" than *wink wink* :P Coffees are good here, not that great of Barista. But the cold coffees here are great. Reasnable on the pocket too. They have branches in Fort Kochi, Timeout/Oberon Mall and Opp. Lil Shenoys. Rating : 3.5/5

These are the top 5 as per my rating :)

There are other cafe's too, such as The Bubble cafe at Taj Lands end, Qwikys, Canopy, Coffee Beanz etc.

Thats all for now! Till I think of something to write upon, ... B.R.B!!! :)

Social Networking Trends !

Seems like people are following a trend unconsciously in social networking sites, especially FB i.e. Facebook. Ever noticed the various stages of a person's life in such sites? Let us examine ;)

Stage 1 : You are new to the world of social networking. You either choose a picture of a celebrity as your profile pic or a very far away shot of urself. Then, You add every tom, dick and harry into your list, just to increase your number of friends.

Stage 2 : You are now new to the world of Farm and mafia :P . Yes...yes... I am talking about Farmville, Mafia wars, Aquarium, blah blah! You start adding more people up [this time, you add up more random ppl, you dont even bother to know which country they belong to!] just to increase the strength of your clan or neighbourhod or whatever!

Stage 3 : You get fed up of these games. You remove all the random people from your list, thereby bringing your mighty friend count of 700+ to a modest 150+.

Stage 4 : Now you arrive to the "You are single and you are ready to mingle" stage. You change your Profile picture every few hours and atleast once every single day!

Stage 5 : You are soon fed up of the above stage, and decide to stick to your current picture for a month or two, i.e. till you get another good pic of yours clicked! [Yes, it takes a month or two :P ]

Stage 6 : You are engaged. Relationship status gets changed within minutes of your engagement ceremony. Please note: The profile picture also changes ;)

Stage 7 : You are married. Now the profile pic changes from a single person to that of a couple. In some cases, this change is seen in stage 6 itself. People also tag their spouse's name to their profile. Such as Miss.X is married to Mr.Y. Seriously, FB is turning into a family tree tracker!

Stage 8 : You are in the honeymoon phase. Please note : This stage lasts for nearly an year or two from the day you get married. The profile pic changes every fortnight, with the couple displaying all sorts of poses :P

Stage 9 : A kid is born. Now you can see that the profile picture changes to that of the baby :) From here, mostly, the profile pic is that of the baby and the various stages of its growth :)

Please note : This post is not 100% correct and is liable to change from person to person. The views/gyan put forth are solely on the Author's observations of her friends list :)

Enough for now... B.R.B!!! ;)
