Dentists are incapable of asking questions that require a simple yes or no answer!!!

:::::Disclaimer: This article is meant for entertainment purpose only. Any resemblance to real persons, living or dead is purely coincidental and unintentional:::::

I have perfect set of teeth. No cavities, No decay and no wisdom tooth problem... till now... *Touchwood* !!! Then how did I end up going to an Orthodontist??

Well... One of my relatives, suggested to my mom that maybe I should get braces, as she felt my teeth was kinda protruding x-( So my mom tells this to me, and even I think, okie, lets just see the dentist and let him give the verdict. Took a appointment with him, only to see a lot of people in the waiting room. My turn arrived, after 30-45 mins.

I enter the room and he asks me to sit on the chair. The dentist's chair, the one with lights on top and some things on the side with some instruments.
I had never ever sat on that chair since when I was 8. I sat on that chair, he puts some metal thing into my mouth and asks "where do you study?" "Which course?" "oh...you work? where do you work?" etc etc. He seemed oblivious of the fact that one cannot talk, when somethin is there in one's mouth. Truly, Just like one wise man once said "Dentists are incapable of asking questions that require a simple yes or no answer"!!! So very true!!

After the examination, He told me, I would need to get 4 of my teeth extracted for this process. Just imagine, four perfect teeth :( And thats the end of the story...

Yeah you guessed it right...I did not go back to that place again ;) :P My teeth are more precious to me!!! :) After all, something is better than nothing! :)

Well thats it for nw... B.R.B.!!! :)

Movie Magic !!!

Yesterday, they had aired "P.S. I Love You" on TV. That was the 4th or 5th time I watched "P.S. I Love You" and still I ended up in tears.

The letters the guy writes for his wife, foreseeing her difficulties to cope up with, makes it all the more touching. I know whats gonna happen next, dialog by dialog, But still it touches the heart. I wonder why? There are a lot many movies which has the same effect on me, some of them being KKHH (Kuch Kuch Hota Hai), Chitram, Marley & me, A Walk to Remember, The Notebook, Stepmom, Taare Zameen Par & Love Story.

These movies make me cry everytime I watch them!
What makes us cry seeing these movies? Is it that we attach ourselves to the main characters? We see ourselves in their shoes? Whatever may it be, it is awkward/embarassing to be caught crying while watching a movie :P :D

Readers, please let me know, if you also find these movies touching, or is it just me? :)

Appearances can be deceptive!

I have come across a lot of people (really, a lot of them) who before entering into my friends circle, felt I am a snobby, snooty person. Well, the one's who know me wouldn't
accept that , cos I rarely never smile/laugh. Giving it a thought, I actually laugh almost all the time.. :O No.. I am not mad :P So when 2 days back, another friend of
mine confided that she felt I would be someone who is strong and arrogant, I began thinking about this.

How and why do people start feeling so? I have come across many
people who seem very nice on the outside, but aren't so at all. So what is that which makes us give that impression? Is it the way we talk? the look on our face? or our
facial features? This is another reason, why many people tend to fear their superiors. I had a mentor, during my initial days of my Corporate life. I could not approach him
for even my slightest of doubts or concerns. You may ask why? The answer is he looked really strict and I had a feeling that he would never listen to my concerns, let alone
help me out. As usual, I did not approach him. After around 4-5 months, we had a client party, which was where I found that he was really a nice guy beneath his strong/haughty
exterior.

So, people, Donot be afraid to approach anyone or mistake someone whom you have not conversed with yet as good or bad. Appearances can be deceptive! ;)

Let this be my Gyan on this Valentine's day to all you folks, who are afraid to ask a gal/guy you like! Go on, give it a shot! Kya pata , Kal ho na ho! [yeah... yeah...I am a bit filmy :P]

Winds of Change

Year 2010 : Almost every single person owns a computer/laptop. Every house has an internet connection in this era. All have Facebook, Orkut, Twitter accounts. The very first thing some people do after waking up is updating their status in FB or 'tweeting'. Well, I also had that craze during the initial days. Almost every kid now has an account in Mafia Wars, tends to his/her farm and animals in Farmville, Runs his/her own coffee shop in Cafe World and many other games. You know times have surely changed drastically when you get the updates about your family and friends through social networking sites, Chat with family on gtalk or messenger than using the phone, Kids play cricket, tennis and kancha virtually in Zapak games than in real. Gone are the days when kids run to the play grounds as soon as they reach home from school. When I was a kid, I could barely wait to get home, drop my bag onto the sofa, remove my shoes, socks and throw it somewhere, have my glass of milk and some snacks and then go runnning to the colony play ground along with friends. We used to make sure we reach early, cos the colony watchman used to tie the swings by 4:30. And swings had a great demand. We had the FCFS (First come first serve) rule. When we had the swing to our hearts content, ie After playing with the swing in all ways like sitting, standing, doubles etc, our gang used to start our daily routine of games. There used to be I-spy, crocodile, lock and key and many other games. Those were the days when Doordarshan ruled over the Indian Television. We used to wait till the transmission started from the station, gazing at the revolving DD logo. The tv programmes were Chitrahaar, UGC, The world this week, Dekh bhai dekh, Shrimaan Shrimati and of course Circus, of our very own King Khan, Shahrukh Khan. On sundays, we had Rangoli, Chandrakanta, Mahabharat, Ducktales, Giant Robot, Disney Hour, Superhit Muqabla and the weekly regional movie, which used to be some art movie in some language. But still, we used to get excited, when we come to know the movie on schedule that week would be of our mother tongue, no matter we are going to watch the movie or not! Used to make us feel special! Every kid on the block knew the lyrics of 'Mile Sur mera tumhara' and 'Mahabhaaaaaaaarat' by heart. The old 'Mile Sur' still tugs at our heartstrings, unlike the new one which is well... utter crap. Slowly the 'Cable TV' pitched in. It was usually referred to Star TV or Sun TV down south mainly TN. Though the cable guy used to provide many channels, it was called Sun TV. Kids at school who had cable network in their homes were considered the 'posh' folk. Gifting a coloring book to a kid used to make him/her happy. Now, to make kids happy, one ought to shell out some grand and gift them a PS (Play Station). I guess its our era (The ones who grew up in the 90's) who have seen the greatest transition. From Doordarshan to Cable TV to Dish TV, from Coloring books to tetris video games to Comp video games to Playstations, from the indian cartoons to the disney ones to the pokemons, from Calculators to Personal computers to laptops to netbooks, from trunk calls to std/isd to cell phones to smart phones, the list is endless. It feels nice when we go back in flashback and remember the times we lived in, the way we lived life. Nostalgia. Gud old days... Hey!!! Now come back to the present world and get busy with your work!! After all recall the words of the Great Virus... 'Life is a race... or u ll be an broken anda!!!' ;) Just kidding folks... Its just that my filmy mode takes over me at times! Live your life the way you want to after all, you only get a single chance! :) B.r.b !!!
